"The finest clothing made is a person's skin, but, of course, society demands something more than this." - Mark Twain

So grams wants to know what I want for christmas, and I am going to ask her for these:
they're by Jeffrey Campbell and I have been in love with them since last spring!

As for my mom, i'll be asking her for these:
black on black Vans! I LOVE Vans, and since I am hoping for a job at Burger King or something like that, these will be perfect!

The rest are for fun!
I love, love, love, these!
And I wanted a pair of UGG mocs last year, I am obsessed with moccasins, as for UGGs, I'm not overly fond of them, I just love the look of these!
And if you have not figured it out, I am in love with studs!
These are so badass!
I love boots like this, they seem to "get the job done"
These are so unique! I just had to add them!
I am in love with my Minnetonkas, here are some more in different styles.
I love how the peace sign are on these! But the brown pair in the middle is my favorite pair!

Okay, have a nice night!

11.12.2010

Hey it's Friday! Which means Supernatural in 18 minutes! My grams is currently trying to get us tickets to The Martha Stuart show for the week of Christmas and I am very excited! We may also be going to The Nate Berkus show in a few weeks! I am so excited! Okay, so I may be able to go to school in Florida like I wanted! They are supposedly lowering the Graphic Design credit hours so it should cost a little less! So, that means I should be looking for stuff that I may need in school. Here is what I have found!:

Okay, I really want a floral backpack but I am also in love with the funky zipper ones from UO. I don't have the money for any of them but it is nice to look.

11.10.2010

I have been obsessed with this coat by BB Dakota for about 2 weeks now, I wish Iknew if I was going to be staying in RI so I could get my own coat like this. There is no reason to have one if I will be in Florida.
I am very obsessed with the navajo print and I love sweaters like this! The pockets are good to hold my ipod and bb.
I also like bags like this. I am going to need a backpack when I start going to school because I will be carrying a lot of stuff back and forth.
I love the combination of a denim shirt and a floral underneath. It looks very cute and spring like.
I am going to get a big tie-dye shirt and cut the neck just like this, just because...

So this blog is most definately going to be me complaining about the things that I want. I find really awesome stuff online but I have no money so I will never own them... I guess I should be like other 18 year olds my age by getting off xanga and tumblr and getting a boyfriend. Oh well until then:

enjoy my likings of many things!

11.08.2010

I found this on Tumblr! I really want to do this to my TOMS. (I have the same pair)

Hey lovely blog! I havn't been on you for a while! I still have no job and only $10 to my name but that is okay because I can still fantasize about the things I want! Take a look!

I wish I could dress like this!

If you think that these TOMS are cute, you can actually buy them online!
This is the dress I want most! It is very bohemian and it is said to be very flattering.
I also love this dress!

The Art of Dressing Boho-Chic

One of the best parts of dressing like a boho is the clothes! If you pull your look off right, you won’t come out looking like a dirty hippie. If you're new to boho fashion (like me) and don't know what to begin with, or if you need inspiration, then check out these tips and pictures below:

1. Make sure it is something that YOU like! There is nothing worse than wearing something that you are not crazy about… Have you ever had one of those days where you put an outfit on and you are just not feeling it, well guess what? Other people get that vibe and then you really look like a hot mess. I feel that a big rule in fashion is to have confidence in what you wear because then you look better and relaxed.

2. Stick to the color pallet! – I doubt this needs an explanation.

3. The accessories also make the outfit; they can also transform an outfit into something better or worse! Think of the clothing as the base and then build up with your accessories. There are scarves, bracelets, rings, earrings, necklaces, and more, just have fun. Moreover, since you may want to add a modern vibe along with the old vibe it is nice that jewelry never goes out of style. However, just don’t pick anything too heavy, it will not look flattering, you may come out looking like a beggar. If you don’t have much money, look at thrift shops and places like Forever 21.

4. As for the layering, layer with things that flatter the body, if not you could come to look like a beggar on the streets of New York. In addition, those beggars like people are the reason why bohemian style can be seen as ragged, hippie clothes.

5. Wear what was popular in the past but add your own modern twist to it. For instance Wear a pair of moccasins with studs on them, it transfers the look a little but if is not too big a transformation.

6. Add some ethnic elements, like Navajo, ikat, Aztec, kind of prints. They look cool and they come in an array of colors! I have these great Aztec sneakers from Urban Outfitters and the base of them is tan that can go with many boho elements.

7. Find your inspiration in another person. Earlier I mentioned that I liked Nicole Richie for her style, she is great, but I also must say that Zoe Kravitz is also a boho fashionista. Let’s not get into “what’s her face” as Perez Hilton calls her (Vanessa Anne Hudgens).

Continue to see how others are achieving a chic bohemian fashion style:

1.
boho style

This is boho beaut goes by Kasica. For the pros of this look, I would have to say that I love her braided headband that matches her bag. I also love the sweater that she is wearing; it looks vintage and very boho. Moreover, when you add this look up, you can clearly see that she stuck to the color pallet. My only con is her makeup. Her beautiful red lips are a little strong for me, she is supposed to look naturally, and her eyeliner is a little too heavy around her beautiful blue eyes. If you would like to see more of this beautiful fashionista her blog is http://www.jestemkasia.blogspot.com/ and her chictopia is http://www.chictopia.com/Kasica.

2. Boho baby

This lovely girl goes by Sarah. What I love about her outfit is that she incorporated gypsy (which I have not talked about) and indie style into what she was wearing. Being that gypsy skirts are also considered bohemian I think that this is a great fashion choice. If you would like to see more of her, you can find her on chictopia by the name
http://www.chictopia.com/sayruhdee%20or you can go on her blog http://jesuisbadpenny.blogspot.com/.

3. zebra love

This fashionista realizes that we are in an economy recession! She may have not said it but this is a good point, you don’t have to buy the most expensive things in order to pull a style off. What I love about what she is wearing is the dull but colorful maxi dress and a wonderful crochet vest. Not to mention, she also has gladiators on! She also said, “Boho is such a chilled and comfortable style, it’s the best!” I don’t know about you…but I know that I love this style. If you would like to see more of Clare, you can find her on chictopia http://www.chictopia.com/rainbowsandfairydust and on blogstpot http://rainbowsandfairydust.blogspot.com/.

Okay loves have a nice day!

“There is no way to peace, peace is the way.” - A.J. Muste

All right, let us get some facts down. Bohemianism came to be in the early nineteenth century when artists began to move into gypsy neighborhoods in Europe. (That is already awesome) The term bohemian refers to untraditional, antiestablishment lifestyles. As for fashion, bohemian style expresses your creativity and individuality. Nevertheless, remember! This is a casual mix of hippie, ethnic, gypsy and vintage elements.

There is so much that you can learn on this page so let us not waste time! Let us start with the color pallet. The best thing to remember is that you will want to use the earth tones. I found the pallet below on a fashion website that can be viewed right here click here for color pallet . It is a very helpful site because this is where I got most of my information on boho fashion. I think that the tips are good and I did learn a lot from the site. Nevertheless, this blog is for personal growth and I want to be able to grow with the information that I acquired on the fashion site.

After looking at the pallet provided you may be thinking “but I thought this was a state of mind!” well it is. Just because there is, a color pallet does not mean that you have to dress only using those colors. I would like to show you how you could achieve this look by selecting some colors that are not on the color pallet. I mean, I guess it would be nice to but then you would blend in with the others. When dressing I would suggest to add your own style to what you are wearing. For instance, check out these pictures, I got them from Chictopia.com.
My first choice is:

It is worn by a gal who goes by Nino, she calls it
Casual Bohemian Inspired Look she wrote “I love free-flowing fashion that you can achieve with maxi dress or maxi skirt, super comfortable and boho-chic at the same time. In order to make it little bit different I like to add glamorous vintage elements like this fabulous necklace.’ If you would like to see more of her, her blog is click here.

As for me, I must say that the maxi skirt is beautiful and flattering. You will notice that I write about flattering things a lot on this blog because I have an ugly “pear-shaped” body. I also like how she used the cognac colored belt with her blazer, it shows that you can incorporate the bohemian look into your work attire.
My second choice is:

This pretty gal’s name is Belinda she gave the look the simple name Boho. She is wearing a nice royal blue strapless maxi dress accompanied with calf high gladiator sandals (very boho), a skinny belt, and a headband. Her blog was not listed but you can see more of her on chictopia, her username is belindabenham (click on username to get a peak).

I have not really touched down on bohemian jewelry but I should be getting to that soon. I really wanted to show you that you do not have to stick to the pallet to achieve the boho look. I think beginners should until they understand what we are doing because just like anyone else, I am still learning and I would like to get better at it but I think she achieved the look very well. However, you must remember, this is only my opinion.
My third and final choice of the day is:

This creative beauty goes by Annie, on chictopia she goes by aCullen. She decided to wear this one dress, in which I found very boho and remix it four ways. She called her creation My Wardrobe Remix. The third way she did it is posted up top and if you would like to see all four ways just follow the link.
She wrote (I did not copy the whole thing) “I’ve been really excited about this wardrobe remix contest. I suppose I’m posting my ensembles so late in the game because I really wanted to think about what I chose to remix, and how I chose to remix it. So, I put on my thinking cap and came up with some great ways to remix one item of clothing from my closet. I opted for a dress I’ve only worn once in the last six months. It’s got a crazy print, and I felt that it would be a definite challenge to remix it! I have four ensembles for you!

Look Three: Boho-ChicI really loved playing up the brown and orange tones of the dress with this look. And a blog remix cannot exist without a belted scarf, in my opinion!
And now here are some tips for your own remix:
Three. If you’re remixing an item of clothing that is patterned and has multiple colors, try to accentuate or play up a different color from the garment in each of the remixes you create.”

This was my favorite look because of the print of the dress, it is a nice pattern, and it is a little brighter than the color pallet given above. If you would like to see more of her, you can type her username into Chictopia.com or you can click on her username above, or you can even visit her blog! click her for blog.

Okay, I am sorry if I had a few mistakes, I am in a rush now, but I hope you enjoyed the article.
